Jim popped a piece of candy into his mouth.
He opened the wood box with the iron latch. It was a gift from Mr. Wheeler. Six years ago today, Jim had been adopted by the Wheeler family.
He looked inside the box and took out the watch. Jim tried it on and thought about his past.
